Location: Bratislava, The Main Square, historical district/centre
The medieval Old City Hall is mentioned in the King’s Ludovit’s letter dated from 1370. Today the City Hall hosts a City Museum with exhibits about Bratislava‘s life in the past. In front of the City Hall stands the Maximilian Fountain (also referred to as the Roland Fountain) built by Maximilian II. The fountain depicts Roland, a knight who, according to the legend, protected the city privileges.
