Bratislava ZOO is accessible by bus no 30, 31, 32, 37, 39, 92 – ZOO bus stop. If you are travelling by car, you can park directly in front of the Bratislava ZOO, at the Slovak Television very well visible from the distance.
Bratislava ZOO
Bratislava animal park is full of various animal species. It was open in 1960. Among unusual animals of Bratislava ZOO you will find South African lion, which is white color. Other animals include White Tiger, Sri Lankan leopard, Jaguar or Caracal. These animals are located at the beginning of the Bratislava ZOO park in glass pavilion, against of monkeys areal. Just behind the ZOO entrance, on the left hand side you will find terrarium and exotarium. There is a few minute walk to see rhinoceros, but the rhinoceros and view at the Kamzík is worth it. Bird species in the Bratislava ZOO include parrots, water birds, flamingos, pelicans and other species. Giraffes and hippos that you will find bathing in the ZOO pool in the central part of Bratislava ZOO are very cute. Here you can sit and rest, there is also a children’s playground, snack bar, weekend pony riding. There are 182 animal species including 1110 animals in Bratislava ZOO animal garden.
Bratislava Dinopark
Dinopark is the main attraction of Bratislava ZOO situated in the ZOO animal garden. It can be found easily according to signs. In the Dinopark there are huge moving and sound making dinosaur statues. You can find here many different types of dinosaurs including flying dinosaurs, carnivorous and herbivorous dinosaurs. Each dinosaur comes with a short characteristics and basic information. They look very realistic. Diplodocus, Tyrannosaurus or triceratops are usually the most interesting dinosaurs for children and therefore included in the Bratislava Dinopark. If you get tired from walking you can sit on the benches along the path and have a rest. Children will be amazed to visit Bratislava Dinopark. You can also take a picture in a dinosaur head or play a palaeontologist in sand. The entrance fee is included in the ZOO ticket.
