Demanovska Cave of Liberty (Demänovská jaskyňa slobody)

Location Low Tatras, Demänovská valley, close to Jasná ski resort

Demanovska cave of liberty is the most beautiful karst caves in Slovakia. It is located in Low Tatras in Demanovska valley, close to Liptovsky Mikulas city. The cave lenght is 8,400 meters, and the pathway of long tour is 2,150 m long and the short tour is 1,145 m long. The longer route of Demanovska Cave of Libery takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes, the smaller route takes about 1 hour. The Demanovska Cave of Liberty is unique with variety of stalactite formations, lakes, waterfalls and Demanovka River. This Slovakia cave has been open for public since 1924. Entrance is at the altitude of 870 m accessible from a car park located just in front of the cave. Tourist signs will take you directly to the car park. Temperature in the cave is only around 6 degrees, so do not forget some warm clothes.
